We are a locally owned and operated business. This is a one of a kind service for the Friends First Dating and surrounding areas. This is something different, not your regular bar scene, or "let me hook you up" from friends. It's private, with age groups, special events such as dances and game night once in awhile. You can meet new people in one night and have a great time doing it.

We wanted to do this because there is so many single people out there that really have no idea where to go to meet people, so why not offer something that anyone can do and enjoy. Dating is hard and we so often hear from people "how do we meet someone?, where do I go?"

Well with Speed Dating everyone is there for the same reason, that is to find someone, either for a companion , friend, partner or spouse. Speed Dating is better, faster, easier way to meet other single people.

  HOW IT WORKS

What are speed dating events?

Our events are get-togethers for singles to meet each other. We set up an event in advance for a certain age group, at a certain location, and then post it on our website. Anyone who wants to join the event can sign up online and we will reserve them a spot.

On the event date, everybody meets at the venue and is greeted by our host. The host will show you where to sit and give you a name tag and "scorecard". You will get to have mini-dates with everyone at the event and the host will ring a bell when it's time to move on to the next date (and of course show you which table to move to).

Everything is arranged for you, so you do not have to feel uncomfortable approaching someone and wondering if they are interested. At the end of the event, everyone fills out the "scorecard" telling the host who they are interested in. The next day, the host will contact everyone and let them know who they "matched" with, according to who picked whom at the event.

You will receive contact info for your matches, so there is no asking for phone numbers, it will be done for you, and only the singles you liked will get your contact info!

Frequently Asked Questions About Speed Dating...

Does Speed Dating cost anything?
Yes, $29.95 (excluding tax). This fee covers your event ticket, next-day matching, and food at the event and maybe the door prize!

Can I attend more than once?
Yes. Sometimes finding that special someone can be a numbers game and we would love to have you back for a second time around if you wish to attend again.

Will I meet the same people if I attend another event?
You may meet one or two people that you have seen before, but the majority will be new faces. If you want to know who will be at an event that you have previously met, just email us and ask. We have a number of events in the Winnipeg area, so you can also try attending an event in another location near you.

What if I don't make any matches?
If you attend a Speed Dating event and do not make any matches, you are invited to come back for half price!

What if I'm not quite the age of the "age range" listed?
We encourage you to come to the group that is closest to your own age, as you will get the most matches that way. If you are more than 1 or 2 years outside the "range", try and consider another group.

Is anything provided at the event?
At the end of the event there will be complimentary appetizers. (Everyone is invited to order drinks and to stay for dinner and/or dessert as well, if they like) We also give away door prizes at the event. Check with your event host as there may be other 'extras' at your event!

Can I pay at the door? When should I sign up?
You must sign up in advance, and you need to pre-pay. This is because we have to confirm who is coming in order to organize the event with an equal number of men and women. Sign up us soon as you know you can attend because events fill up quickly!

What if the event I want to attend is full?
If the event is full, we can put you on a waiting list. People do change their minds about which event they want to attend and some people do not pay in advance. We can often offer these spots to the people on the waiting list.

What should I wear?
Dress like you are going out on a date. The main thing is to be confident and be yourself and the easiest way to do this is to dress in something that makes you feel comfortable. After all, you want someone to be attracted to you for who you really are.

What kind of contact information gets exchanged?
You decide what contact information you want us to give your matches. Usually it is a e-mail address or cell phone number. Remember, we only give out your contact information to your matches - people who you wish to see again and who wish to see you again, no-one else.

How do I pay?
You may pay by sending a check or money order to Friends First Dating Speed Dating. We also accept Paypal.
